From the 14th to the 17th of May, the 1337 – Coding School’s Artificial Intelligence Students Club (1337AI) organized the 4th national edition of HackAI at the University’s Campus in Benguerir under the theme “Artificial Intelligence for the Rural World,” focusing on practical solutions to the challenges faced by rural communities.
This edition brought together more than 90 participants and 24 teams from 21 schools and universities across Morocco for four days of artificial intelligence competition and experimentation.
The program combined the main hackathon with technical challenges, mentoring sessions, and interactive activities covering AI fundamentals and applications across language, speech, and computer vision models. More than 20 mentors, researchers, and professionals from national and international institutions supported participants throughout the event.
The projects addressed challenges in agriculture, accessibility, and rural development. The first prize went to AinSight, which supports farmers with water-quality monitoring and voice-assisted agricultural guidance. The second-place project, JarvisLfla7, proposed a voice-based AI assistant tailored for Moroccan farmers, while the third-place team, Raii Vision, developed an artificial intelligence-powered livestock monitoring and security system that uses computer vision and smart sensors.
