L’Oréal-UNESCO Ceremony honored Women’s Excellence in Scientific Research

University Mohammed VI Polytechnic hosted the 19th edition of the L’Oréal-UNESCO program “For Women in Science”, within its Campus in Rabat.

The regional UNESCO Maghreb office announced the 2025 Maghreb laureates of the L’Oréal–UNESCO For Women in Science Young Talent Program. The ceremony highlighted the work of five women researchers whose projects address scientific challenges in fields such as health, water, technology, and environmental studies.

The partnership between UNESCO and L’Oréal Maroc aims to support women in scientific research, noting the ongoing underrepresentation of women in the field both globally and within the Maghreb region. Since 2006, the program has supported more than 90 researchers across the region.

The ceremony also included contributions from representatives of academic and institutional partners, including UM6P and the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development.

As part of this event, Mr. Charaf Ahmimed, UNESCO Maghreb Regional Director, met with Mr. Khalid Baddou, Chief of Staff & Institutional Affairs Director, to discuss the University’s vision, mission, and areas of engagement in Morocco and Africa.
