On the 10th of February, University Mohammed VI Polytechnic held at its Campus in Benguerir, a lecture titled "Magic Angle Graphene: The Twist and Shout of Quantum Materials," delivered by Professor Pablo Jarillo-Herrero, Cecil and Ida Green Professor of Physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
During the session, Pr. Jarillo-Herrero discussed the discovery of magic-angle graphene and its implications for condensed matter physics. He explored how this breakthrough revealed unconventional superconductivity and strongly correlated electronic phases, contributing to the development of twistronics, a research field that investigates controlling electronic properties by rotating two-dimensional material layers.
