<p>From the 8th to the 16th of September, UM6P, through the International Water Research Institute (IWRI), the College of Computing, and the Toubkal supercomputer, hosted the Advanced School on High-Performance Computing and Applied AI for High-Resolution Regional Climate Modeling, at UM6P Campus in Benguerir.</p>
<p>The program was jointly organized with the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) and partially supported by the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development.</p>
<p>The summer school welcomed 43 participants from Africa, the MENA region, and Europe with training on regional climate modeling, high-performance computing, and machine learning–based climate emulators. Combining lectures and laboratory sessions, the program emphasized both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, highlighting the role of AI in improving the efficiency and accuracy of climate projections.</p>
