The Center for African Studies participated in the 8th World Humanities Forum in South Korea

From the 4th to the 6th of November, Professor Ali Benmakhlouf, Director of the Center for African Studies and Co-Director of Arabic Classical Philosophy and Philosophy of Sciences (ACPPS), participated in the 8th World Humanities Forum held at the Andong International Convention Center in Andong City, Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea.

Prof. Benmakhlouf delivered a presentation titled “Artificial Intelligence and the Challenges of Human Conversation.” He described artificial intelligence as a “powerful algorithm” founded on mathematical calculations, statistics, and large-scale data simulations. His presentation explored the differences between genuine human conversation and the constant information flow produced by AI, leading to reflections on creativity and shared ethics.

This participation emphasized UM6P’s engagement in global discussions addressing the ethical, philosophical, and societal dimensions of artificial intelligence and its influence on the future of the humanities.
