On the 3rd of November, the “One Health Initiative”, endorsed and supported by the Office of the President, was launched at the University’s Benguerir Campus as a framework promoting the interconnection between human, animal, and environmental health.
The launch happened simultaneously with the Global Celebration of “One Health Day” and featured an overview of the initiative, its multidisciplinary working group, and two key sessions: the panel discussion “Bridging Systems for a Healthier Planet” and a webinar “One Health for a Sustainable and Resilient Future with Nature: Now Is the Time,” presented by Dr. Julie Garnier.
The panel brought together Prof. Mustapha El Bouhssini, Prof. Joann Karen Whalen, Prof. Mohamed Chaker Necibi, Prof. Malika Kheireddine, and Prof. Sanae Benmkaddem, who explored links across soil systems, water, oceans, circularity, remote sensing, and human health, setting a collaborative tone for the initiative’s next phase.
To sustain the momentum, a monthly series of events will follow, fostering dialogue and knowledge exchange around the One Health framework.
