Micrometeorites Were Studied Through Practical Microscopy Training

On the 11th of February, the Geology & Sustainable Mining Institute (GSMI) organized a practical course on micrometeorites, led by Ms. Andrea Miedtank from the Natural History Museum Berlin, under the coordination of Professor Hassna Chennaoui, Resident at the Institute for Advanced Studies (IAS).
The session allowed participants to examine micrometeorite samples under a microscope and learn identification and analytical techniques for these extraterrestrial particles.
The course covered micrometeorite morphology and surface features, identification methods, and offered hands-on experience with microscopy analysis. The program combined theoretical lessons with practical laboratory work, aiding in the development of skills for studying extraterrestrial materials.
