Seminar discussed classroom applications of Transformative - Emancipatory Pedagogy

On the 19th of November, the Institute for Advanced Studies hosted a session with Dr. Teresa M. Cappiali at UM6P Campus in Benguerir, where she introduced Transformative - Emancipatory Pedagogy (TEP), an evidence-based framework she developed from her teaching practice on migration and other sensitive topics.

At UM6P, progress on TEP has shifted from contextualization to the design of early pilot studies. These pilots examine interconnected and participatory learning formats, including dialogue circles, puzzles, role-play, and collaborative projects, created to complement traditional lecture-based methods while keeping teachers as guides and designers central.

The initiative also connects to international collaborations with the University of Cambridge, University College Cork, and partners in Mexico, supporting comparative pilot efforts.
