On the 04th of November, University Mohammed VI Polytechnic and the OCP SBU Mining signed two framework agreements to launch initiatives aimed at transformations in the mining sector and supporting the Group’s long-term vision.
The first agreement launched the AI4Mining Accelerated Research Center – AI4ALL, an extension of the AI-Accelerated Research Center (AI-ARC) jointly created by OCP and UM6P. This new center strengthens the integration of artificial intelligence across mining operations and advances data-driven decision-making. It brings together researchers, field operators, data scientists, students, and entrepreneurs to turn scientific research into practical applications in geological exploration, predictive maintenance, mine planning, energy efficiency, supply chain optimization, and safety systems.
The second agreement introduced the Mining Future of Skills Program (2026–2027), a capability-building initiative designed to prepare a future-ready workforce through upskilling, reskilling, and certification in automation, AI, and sustainable operations. The program will define pathways to nearly fifty new roles by 2027 and promote collaboration between UM6P, SBU Mining, and key industrial partners.
Both frameworks are part of a shared commitment to link academic research with industrial application, supporting innovation, efficiency, and sustainability in mining operations. Through these initiatives, UM6P and OCP SBU Mining reaffirmed their collaboration toward building a smarter and more sustainable mining sector.
