On the 27th of October, University Mohammed VI Polytechnic and the Timbuktu Institute organized a symposium to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Morocco–Senegal cooperation, within its Campus in Laayoune.
The symposium marked two significant milestones: the signing of the 1965 foundational agreement between Morocco and Senegal and the 50th anniversary of the Green March, two significant milestones that reflect a shared path shaped by vision and pan-African solidarity.
Bringing together more than 200 participants, including researchers, policymakers, and institutional representatives from both countries, the event featured three thematic panels on the historical trajectory of Moroccan-Senegalese relations, research and academic mobility, and the potential of entrepreneurship and food sovereignty in shaping future collaboration.
This initiative reaffirmed the enduring partnership between the two nations and their shared commitment to advancing joint research programs, strengthening academic exchange, and promoting sustainable development through regional cooperation.
