From the 22nd to the 23rd of October 2025, UM6P-CITINNOV and the UN-Habitat Cities Investment Facility (CIF), in collaboration with UN-Habitat Morocco, hosted the Urban Finance Masterclass at the University’s Campus in Rabat.
This workshop brought together city officials, international experts, and development practitioners for a two-day program dedicated to sustainable urban infrastructure financing, with a focus on solid waste management and waste-to-energy (WtE) solutions.
The event started with remarks from Prof. Hassan Radoine, along with representatives of the Moroccan government and UN-Habitat country offices. It was followed by expert-led sessions conducted by CIF, its partners, and UM6P-CITINNOV specialists, who presented innovative tools and methodologies developed within UM6P, including the Territorial Performance Observatory (TOP) geoportal and the digital simulator for Integrated Sustainable Territorial Planning.
The workshop concluded with a collective reflection on the importance of adopting a holistic approach to waste and resource management, fastened in data-driven monitoring, accountability, and impact measurement.
