On the 4th of December, University Mohammed VI Polytechnic launched “UM6P CoreLabs” within its Campus in Benguerir. The platform brings together research facilities structured around three units: Imaging and Characterization, Biosciences, and Analytical Chemistry, offering instruments and techniques for observation, analysis, and validation in experimental research.
CoreLabs provides tools such as Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), Focused Ion Beam (FIB) imaging, high-throughput sequencing systems, 3D cellular imaging platforms, and analytical methods for pollutant and trace metal detection. The platform aims to support interdisciplinary research and provide access to infrastructure for addressing scientific and technical challenges.
This multidisciplinary research platform represents a significant step forward in strengthening scientific sovereignty, fostering local value creation, and advancing Africa’s integration into international networks of knowledge production and dissemination.
