From the 13th to the 16th of October, University Mohammed VI Polytechnic, through its GLOBAL HUBS - Canada, served as a partner in the 8th edition of MTL Connecte in Montréal, an international event dedicated to digital transformation and technological innovation.
The event brought together researchers, entrepreneurs, industry representatives, and institutional stakeholders to discuss artificial intelligence, digital sovereignty, data governance, cybersecurity, and responsible innovation. UM6P contributed through conferences and ecosystem exchanges, featuring interventions by Pr. Lamiae Azizi, Professor at the College of Computing and Director of the Accelerated AI Research Center, and by Mr. Jalal Charaf, Executive Dean of Africa Business School and Chair of the University’s Artificial Intelligence Council.
At the Innovation Salon, representatives from University Mohammed VI Polytechnic shared perspectives on African innovation ecosystems and helped raise the visibility of startups developing technologies with international applications. UM6P also participated in the selection process for the Prix Afrique Innovante Dual Use, which recognizes African ventures developing technologies with both civilian and strategic applications.
Through the Montréal Explore online-access program, UM6P also facilitated remote participation for its community, with 655 registrations recorded. The initiative provided access to the event’s discussions and opportunities to engage with international innovation stakeholders.
