From the 20th to the 28th of April, University Mohammed VI Polytechnic participated in the 18th edition of the International Agricultural Exhibition in Morocco (SIAM), held in Meknes under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, under the theme “Sustainability of animal production and food sovereignty.”
UM6P participated alongside OCP Group, highlighting agriculture's role in broader ecosystem dynamics. This year’s edition brought together 1,590 exhibitors from 76 countries. The event also featured 360 foreign exhibitors and 538 cooperatives, highlighting the growing international and local engagement with Morocco’s agricultural sector.
The program featured contributions from the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences (CAES) and its affiliated entities, covering soil health, phosphorus management, biomass production, and animal nutrition. Demonstrated projects included soil mapping and nutrient optimization; agroforestry and water solutions, such as desalination and atmospheric water harvesting; and innovations in animal feed, including insect protein and microalgae.
The University also presented its approach to integrating research, innovation, and field experimentation, emphasizing measurable impacts on biomass production, resource efficiency, and agricultural system resilience. The participation further highlighted initiatives that support farmer engagement, knowledge transfer, and entrepreneurship, contributing to the development of sustainable and scalable solutions for food security.
