UM6P Took Part in the U7+ Presidential Summit in Paris

From the 14th to the 15th of April, University Mohammed VI Polytechnic participated in the 2026 Alliance of World Universities (U7+) Presidential Summit in Paris, hosted by Sciences Po, Paris City University, and École Polytechnique.

UM6P was represented by its President, Dr. Hicham El Habti, alongside Mr. Khalid Baddou, Chief Institutional Affairs Officer, who engaged in high-level discussions on the evolving role of universities in fostering global cooperation and advancing their social impact.

The summit brought together 85 university leaders from 37 institutions across 14 countries to engage in discussions structured around the Alliance’s three core pillars: robust democracies, planetary priorities, and multilateral engagement. These exchanges highlighted the critical role of higher education institutions in addressing global challenges and fostering collective, forward-looking solutions.

The event featured several key highlights, including the presentation of the U7+ 2026 Communiqué to French President Emmanuel Macron, calling for stronger collaboration between G7 governments and universities. The program also included remarks by Mr. Philippe Baptiste, French Minister for Higher Education, Research and Space, and a keynote by Nobel Laureate in Economics (2014), Professor Jean Tirole, as well as sessions where U7+ Presidents shared perspectives on the social role of universities, climate change, artificial intelligence, and dual-use research.
