From the 28th to the 30th of August, University Mohammed VI Polytechnic served as Academic Partner of the LEAD Retreat 2026, a pan-African leadership program led by the Africa CEO Forum and Jeune Afrique Media Group, held at UM6P Campus in Rabat.
The event brought together 35 senior public decision-makers from 23 African countries to examine the policies, institutional capabilities, and digital infrastructure required to support transformation across the continent. This edition focused on data-driven public policies and the role of data, artificial intelligence, and evidence-based approaches in strengthening public action.
The retreat featured contributions from African and international leaders. Mr. Karim El Aynaoui, Executive President of the Policy Center for the New South and Dean of the Faculty of Governance, Economics and Social Sciences, contributed to the “Built to Scale” session alongside Pr. Abdoulaye Ndiaye, a professor at the New York University Stern School of Business.
Discussions explored productive capacities across African states, industrial and institutional choices, and the mobilization of domestic resources and financing to support economic transformation.
