From the 28th of September to the 2nd of October, the Public Policy School held the EcoMod School of Modeling and Data Science, a weeklong training program focused on strengthening participants’ analytical and quantitative modeling capabilities.
The program featured three specialized courses covering general equilibrium modeling using the General Algebraic Modeling System (GAMS), Dynamic Stochastic General Equilibrium (DSGE), and microsimulation and distributional analysis. By combining theoretical foundations with practical applications, the sessions introduced participants to methodologies and tools for economic modeling and public policy analysis.
The program was delivered by Pr. Dorothée Boccanfuso, Vice-Dean (Economics) at FGSES; Pr. Abdelkhalek Touhami, Professor at FGSES; Pr. Dizem Ertac Varoglu, Lecturer in Economics at Near East University; and Pr. Werner Roeger, Research Fellow at DIW Berlin (the German Institute for Economic Research), who provided participants with academic and applied perspectives on quantitative methods for economic and distributional analysis.
