On the 14th of October, the Faculty of Medical Sciences (FMS) and UM6P Hospitals, with the support of OCP Foundation, held the closing ceremony of the first edition of Ibtikar & Wikaya 2026 at UM6P Campus in Benguerir.
The event marked the completion of a seven-month entrepreneurial innovation program designed to help students develop startup projects that address healthcare challenges. The initiative reached more than 200 students from Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing Sciences, and doctoral programs, with 60 participants and 20 project submissions. After training, mentoring, and project development, nine teams presented their solutions during Demo Day.
The closing ceremony recognized four winning startups: BIOTEX, developing locally produced biotechnology reagents for research; LRRKIT, developing a rapid test to support early diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease; SHIFAA ASSISTANCE, proposing a digital application for home healthcare; and RADCHECK, developing an artificial intelligence solution for assessing the quality and sensitivity of chest X-rays.
The four winning teams will receive incubation support through the FMS Bioincubator, OCP Foundation, and the UM6P LaunchPad program. The remaining finalist startups will also receive entrepreneurship and incubation support to advance their projects. The initiative will continue with preparations for its 2027 edition.
