UM6P Media Academy Celebrated the Graduation of its First Cohort

On the 25th of June, the Communications and Public Relations Office, with the support of Executive Education in Science, Technology, and Health, held the graduation ceremony of the first cohort of the UM6P Media Academy, at the University’s Campus in Benguerir.

Launched in December 2025, the initiative was designed to strengthen journalists’ capacity for communicating science and storytelling, supporting the translation of scientific research and technological innovation into demystify content for broader audiences.

Over six months, the program brought together 16 journalists from national media organizations through 15 training modules led by 17 professors and experts. Participants combined classroom learning with immersive experiences across 11 laboratories and research platforms, engaging directly with researchers and ongoing scientific projects within the University.

The curriculum covered topics such as geology, renewable energy, artificial intelligence and digital technologies, agriculture, and the principles of science communication and storytelling. The program concluded with final project presentations and the graduation of the first cohort.

Building on this first edition, the UM6P Media Academy will continue with the next cohorts during the next academic year, supporting the communication of science journalism in Morocco.
